A head-on collision is one of the most dangerous types of car accidents, as it typically involves high speeds and can lead to major injuries and even death. Losing someone in this type of accident in Connecticut can make family members both distraught and angry. The family members of a person who is killed in these types of car accidents have the right to seek monetary damages to cover end-of-life expenses and other costs stemming from the accident; this is the case even if the wrong-way driver died in the accident that he or she allegedly caused.

Two people recently died in a two-vehicle crash that ended up with one car catching fire. One man was involved in the crash was found burned inside his vehicle. Another man was found on the sidewalk near his car. Both men died at the scene of the accident.

According to a witness, one of the cars went past her quickly on the wrong side of the road. That’s when the collision happened. Authorities said that the speeding car flew through an intersection and was driving against the flow of traffic before striking a curb, turning over and then exploding, according to surveillance video of the accident. Police said that speed appeared to be a contributing factor in the collision.

The family members of the individual whose vehicle was allegedly struck by the driver going against the flow of traffic could rightfully file a wrongful death lawsuit seeking monetary damages. This may help to ease pain and suffering or emotional distress stemming from the fatal accident. A successful suit can also help to cover funeral costs and other expenses connected to the event. The fact that the driver was going the wrong way, according to police, could be used as evidence of reckless driving in Connecticut, and, if speed is found to have contributed to the accident, it could also be used to establish liability in civil court. Even if the individuals thought to be responsible in these kinds of car accidents ends up dying, the injured victims or surviving families can still sue that driver’s estate to compensate for damages.
