An individual recently lost his life due to a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle in Connecticut. The tragic bike accident happened on a recent Sunday and calls attention to the importance of operating a vehicle with care when driving near bikers in order to avoid motorcycle accidents. The incident began when a vehicle was driving west on a Connecticut road.
At that time, the car hit the back of the motorcycle, which also was heading west. The motorcyclist was 78 years old and suffered trauma to his head as a result of the impact. He received treatment from fire department workers at the accident scene and then was transported to the hospital.
The man, however, died at the hospital. The car’s driver, who is 22 years old, faces a charge of vehicular manslaughter. He also faces other charges, including driving under the influence, negligent homicide and possessing narcotics. Furthermore, the man is accused of having drug paraphernalia. He also allegedly failed to drive at a distance from the motorcycle that was considered to be reasonable, according to police.
No other people were injured in the bike accident; police continue to investigate the crash. The family members of the deceased Connecticut motorcyclist have the right to sue the car’s driver in civil court, seeking financial damages that may help to pay for funeral expenses, the loss of support and other losses that occurred as a result of the accident. If the driver of the car is convicted of his charges, evidence from the convictions might help the plaintiffs to more effectively make their case regarding the driver’s liability in the accident.
