When cars navigate around motorcyclists, it is imperative that they exercise extreme caution. This is because a motorcyclist doesn’t have the same level of protection that motorists who are shielded by car doors do. Unfortunately, two individuals died in a recent bike accident in Connecticut.
The accident took place on a Tuesday night. It involved a car and a motorcycle. According to police, the two vehicles crashed right before 10 p.m.
A 37-year-old motorcyclist and his 26-year-old female passenger lost their lives in the crash. The man died at the accident scene, while the woman was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries and ended up dying there. The people in the car that crashed into the bike suffered no injuries, police reported. The road where the accident happened was closed down for multiple hours as the authorities continued to investigate the accident.
If the car driver is discovered to have caused the bike accident, this driver may face claims for financial responsibility. The family members of the two people who were killed while riding the motorcycle may file wrongful death claims against the driver of the car. They have the right to seek monetary damages, which can help to cover their loved ones’ funeral costs and other financial losses accruing from the Connecticut accident. There must be competent proof of negligence on the part of the car driver in order for liability to be established in a way that meets the court’s requirements. Once accomplished, judge will adjudicate specific claims of financial damage.
