Friends and family are currently grieving the loss of a child after he died as a result of a crash in Connecticut. The auto accident took place on a recent Thursday night. The boy was 8 years old.

Police said they responded to a vehicle crash involving two cars and the child shortly before 6 p.m. The boy was reportedly struck by a vehicle. He suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The two people driving the cars involved in the crash are now facing automobile-related violation charges. Extra charges may be filed as well based on the police investigation’s outcome. It is not clear if speed was a causal factor in the collision. The area does not have a stop light.

In addition to facing criminal charges, the two drivers may face legal challenges in the form of civil liability claims as well. This is because the family members of the child killed in the Connecticut accident may decide to file a wrongful death claim against the drivers. If the two motorists are convicted of their charges, proof of their convictions can be presented in a related civil court proceeding in an effort to establish their financial responsibility for the boy’s death in the auto accident. It is mandatory that liability be established sufficiently before the court will adjudicate the plaintiff’s monetary damage claims. Monetary compensation may not bring the dead boy back, but it may help the boy’s loved ones achieve a sense of closure.
