One person recently died in a tragic Connecticut car accident, naturally leaving the grieving family members with questions about what exactly could have caused such a preventable incident. In some situations, an auto accident happens because a person fails to exercise caution behind the wheel or blatantly disobeys a rule of the road. In these cases, the individual deemed at fault in the accident may be held financially responsible for injuries or deaths resulting from the accident.
The recent Connecticut crash took place before 2 p.m. on a Monday. It occurred along Route 8, west of New Haven. A man was riding in a car, and reports suggest that the driver was speeding. Apparently, the driver of the car ended up losing control of the vehicle and striking a tree.
The passenger, 20, was in the back seat. He was ejected from the automobile and landed nearly 25 feet away. He passed away at the accident scene. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fatal collision.
The family members of the passenger who died in the auto accident have the right to pursue the reimbursement of monetary damages associated with the collision, including burial expenses and loss of the income the deceased would have earned had he survived. If the investigation confirms that the car driver was speeding, this may be offered as proof of driver negligence in a wrongful death lawsuit. Claims for financial damages will be adjudicated by the court only if liability is established to the court’s satisfaction in Connecticut.
