One man’s family is grieving over his death following a fatal car accident in Connecticut. The tragic auto accident took place on a recent Tuesday. The incident occurred along Interstate 95.

The 3 a.m. accident happened when a 19-year-old was driving a vehicle north and went into the road’s center lane. It collided with another car driven by a 56-year-old woman. The first car then hit a guardrail and proceeded down an embankment before striking several trees. One man who was riding in the car that left the roadway ended up being ejected from the vehicle and he passed away; he was 20.

The car’s driver suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to a hospital. Another passenger in the vehicle, who was 19, suffered serious injuries and was also taken to a hospital. Firefighters had to extricate these two individuals from the wreck. Meanwhile, the 56-year-old who drove the second car involved in the collision suffered minor injuries.

The driver who police believe caused the Connecticut accident by entering the highway’s center lane may be held liable for the injuries and death resulting from the collision. The family members of the deceased passenger have the right to file a wrongful death claim, while the injured victims may choose to file personal injury claims. Financial restitution in an auto accident case that is successfully fought may help the plaintiffs to pay for related burial expenses or medical bills as well as cover other financial losses tied to the accident. Claims for damages will be determined by the court once liability has been established to its satisfaction.
